The drama began on Sunday at 3 p.m., with smoke billowing from the old Royal High School building on the east side of the city.
Four firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Emergency workers surrounded the area and advised people to stay away from smoke. No casualties were reported, but the ships remained in a state of disrepair.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Edinburgh Central MSP Angie Robertson tweeted during the event:
“I wish all the best to the emergency services on site.”
Witnesses in the area said police had been told to leave.
He said the fire service will be completely extinguished and will not be evacuated unless it is secured.
Another eyewitness added: “The ground is very dry, very windy and very windy, and the fire has spread. There were also many people enjoying a good day and wonderful views.
But people are warned to stay away from the dangers of inhaling smoke.
