Soap Lake wildfire at least 300 acres in size, evacuation alert raises to Level 3


Grant County, Laundry – People near the Soap Lake Fire have now been given a Level 3 evacuation warning, which means ‘go’.

These places have now been upgraded to Level 3.

To the east of Lake Samuna, the SR28 area is Adrian Road S

Additional places under Step 3 alarm:

21000 Road D.5 Road Area D.5 NE and 20.6 Road Area D.5 NE and 20.7 NE

Step 3 Release means release immediately. The danger in your area is current or imminent, and you should leave immediately.

Grant County Sheriff Kyle Forman confirmed the fire was at least 300 acres.

Anyone needing shelter due to the fire, please call 509-237-2598.

Nearby, Ephrata and Quincy both had a wildfire at the “melting point”, which means that most of the firefighters were out of control. The fire in Ephrathah is estimated to have damaged 45 acres[45 ha]and affected 300 acres[300 ha]in Quincy. At this point, there is no fear that they will be exposed to the lake fire, but the purchase may be a concern.

Step 2 Release Alert stays in place

Grant County Sheriff’s Office provided the following details about the fire.

It started around 12pm on Tuesday, east of Soap Lake, and is currently burning east. Dry and rocky terrain has created huge amounts of fuel, making it difficult for firefighters to work. High temperatures are also a factor.

Step 3 Release means release immediately. The danger in your area is current or imminent, and you should leave immediately.

According to the warning, there is a serious threat to life and property and the risk is increasing. Law enforcement officers go from house to house to inform people about the alarm.

Be aware that you may not receive any further notifications to release. And, after you decide to stay, emergency services cannot help you.
