The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry has confirmed that a new wildfire has broken out in the North East region.
Sudbury 22, which started shortly after 10:30 a.m. July 16, is the only active wildfire in the Northeast region. The fire is currently on 0.8 hectares and is under control. The fire is about two kilometers east of Sherrit Lake or Washagami Lake.
