WACO, Texas (KWTX) – McLean County Judge Scott Felton on Tuesday declared a state of emergency due to extreme dry and dangerous weather conditions and issued an order banning the use and sale of fireworks.
The size of the fast-moving wildfires and the damage they cause can cause us to believe that this risk is inevitable, Felton said.
The order was issued because the region as a whole had not received enough rain for a long time.
Violation of this declaration is punishable by a fine not exceeding $ 500 or imprisonment for up to 180 days, whichever is greater.
Unless an environmental warning is extended or renewed, it will expire seven days after it is issued.
