Salt Lake City – Two types of helicopters have been added to the Utah fire extinguisher, which is recording like an active fire.

In particular, the Utah Forest, Fire and Territories Land Department has signed an agreement with Croman Corporation to provide this valuable wildfire protection resource, according to a Utah news release. Department of Natural Resources.
“This is a much-needed addition to our fire extinguisher here in Utah,” said Mike Melton, aviation department officer. “With assets provided by our federal partners, these helicopters will improve our initial attack and greater fire protection capabilities.”
The first helicopter to arrive online will be stopped at Cedar City Airport, and the second will be determined later.
The Special Terms of Use are valid for up to five years and each aircraft is contracted for 90 days each year from June 1 to the end of September. Both SH-3H aircraft will be ready to respond to wildfires in July and August. This year’s first aircraft will be available for state service on June 15, the statement said.
Type 1 helicopters are the largest and fastest in the wild. These aircraft can deliver large amounts of water or retardant while assisting ground crews and other aircraft. One of the helicopters has a long-distance bucket and the other has a tank of approximately 800 gallons.
According to the report, three senior helicopter managers have been hired with the aircraft to gain experience in managing such aircraft at the federal level.
The plane will be sent from the Inter-Agency Fire Department in the state. It is also used by the Forest Service, BLM and other federal land administration agencies in the state.
