At 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry wildland fire personnel are reporting one active wildland fire in the Northeast Region in Algonquin Park.
Algonquin Park 5 was confirmed at 1:04 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. It is located on a peninsula on the north end of Vireo Lake and it measures 1.4 hectares. It continues to burn but is now considered under control.
The Muskoka Fire Danger Rating is currently set to high.
