Prosecutors open probe into new Rome wildfires – English


(ANSA) – Rome, July 5 – Prosecutors in Rome said on Tuesday that they had launched an investigation into a massive wildfire in northern Rome on Monday.

It was the latest in a series of wildfires in and around Rome that came just days after the devastating wildfires that ravaged Massimina.

Monday’s fire engulfed the Pinito Park and Monte Siyochi Nature Reservoir, forming a huge cloud of smoke behind St. Peter’s Basilica and causing strong odors and ashes in the center of the capital and in areas including Nomentana, Talent, and Pineta Sacheti. And Balduina.
