Soap Lake, Washing – Step 3 Release – Release Now – Prepared for people living near a wildfire in the Soap Lake.
Release is affecting people in the following areas.
- Adrian Road 2 SR 2
- 21000 Block Rd D.5 NE
- Road area D.5 NE and 20.6 NE
- Road area D.5 NE and 20.7 NE
- East of Lake Soap
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said 37 homes were at risk.
The fire closed section 28 of State Line east of the intersection. It was burning on both sides of the road.
The front road between Hiwata and Class is also closed.
SR 28 closed from MP 56 to MP 59, east of jct. Along with SR 17 near Lake Soap, a fire broke out on both sides of the road. There is currently no way and no time to reopen.

The Grant County Public Utilities District said there were two separate power outages as a result of the fire. About 100 customers at Soap Lake and 300 customers in Winchester were injured.
