Wildfire ignites in Zion National Park, causes road closure


A wildfire broke out in Zion National Park on Wednesday evening, closing a road near the park.

The Upper Kolob Fire was burning in the Maloney Hill area of ​​the park and was estimated to be 20-30 acres as of 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to Utah Fire. Officials have closed Kolob Terrace Road from State Route 9 to the Lava Point area as a fire escape route.
