Colorado Springs, Colorado (KKTV) – Unprepared Communities The Colorado Springs Fire Department is the most visible in wildfires. That is why they are organizing a series of municipal meetings across the city to inform the community and respond to questions from residents.
CSFD Community Education and Access Supervisor Sony Smaldino: I wish most people would look back and be more prepared.
According to Smaldino, there was a lot of attendance at the start of these meetings, but when things started to turn green, the turnout was declining. The fire department wants people to remember that wildfires can start at any time.
During the summer, there will be ten more town hall meetings. The meetings will be streamed live on Facebook and more information about dates and times can be found on the Colorado Spring Fire Department website.
