262 lightning strikes spark wildfires in Northern California

The fire, which caused more than 260 lightning strikes, sparked at least four fires in Sicio County over the weekend, firefighters said. All fires have been contained since Monday morning.

The summer storm began Saturday afternoon, with light rain falling around 2pm 30, followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon. Siscio County, Shasta Mountain House, shares a border with Oregon, one of the northern states of California. According to Cal Fire, they received 12 fire reports and were able to track four, including lightning struck a pine tree.

On Saturday, the agency’s Siskuyu section said on Facebook: “Cal Fire is busy with a number of local government resources in response to tonight’s fires.

Cal Fire wrote drones equipped with infrared cameras to obtain the maximum number of fires.

As of Monday, all lightning strikes have been extinguished and flashes are being monitored, but with more hurricanes forecast, Cal Fire will require residents to keep an eye on any new start. Fires are also a concern due to fireworks with the fourth anniversary of July. California’s forests and parks for wildfires are managed by AlertWildfire at the University of Nevada, Reno, UC San Diego, and the University of Oregon, with live streaming cameras throughout the western United States.
