Sky West of Madrid Covered by Smoke From Cebreros Wildfire

This image from July 20 shows the sky covered in smoke from a wildfire in Cebreros, Spain, about 50 miles west of Madrid. The wildfire has grown to 15 square miles (4,000 hectares), local media cited fire officials as saying. The fire forced the evacuation of more than 2,000 people from the town of El Hoyo de Pinares. This year’s wildfires in Spain are the country’s worst in a decade, with 746 square miles (193,247 hectares) of forest burned so far, according to the European Forest Fire Information System.
