Lightning Sparks Wildfire in Custer State Park


Grace Creek Fire is being developed by local, state and federal resources and is located near Lake Center.

CUSTER, SD: Wildfires in Custer State Park, 2 miles east of Center Lake, were reported on Saturday at 12 ፡ 58 p.m.

Currently the size is estimated at 8 hectares of land, the cause of the fire is thought to be lightning.

Middle Lake

Helicopters take water from the center lake

Resources were sent to the site, including single-engine air tanks, air strikes and three helicopters.

Local, state and federal agencies are working together to prevent the fire.
