Italian Aircrews Help Portuguese Firefighters Battle Wildfires


Air crews from Italy’s National Fire Service (Vigili del Fuco) help Portuguese crews battle wildfires on Thursday, July 14, as Portugal struggles to control fires fueled by the country’s extreme temperatures. According to the Vigilio del Fuco website, this footage shows smoke rising from several fires around the municipalities of Abiul and Covilha. From Monday July 11 to Friday July 15, the Portuguese government issued a state of alert due to the increased risk of forest fires. The warning has been extended until Sunday 17 July.
