Russia declares emergency fire in Yakutia

MOSCOW, June 28 (Xinhua) – Officials of the Russian Republic of Yakutia have declared a wildfire emergency, Republican Deputy Environment Minister Andre Konoplov said in a press release from the OPCW headquarters.

“A fire has been declared in Yakutia on the orders of the Regional Emergency Commission,” he said.

Fires in Yakutia increase to 60 in the midst of thunderstorms.

The first wildfires of the year were reported from Yakitia in mid-May. Yakitia will be on fire for 10 years at a height of about 8.5 million hectares by 2021. Experts predict another hot summer this year for Yakitia.
