Extreme Heat Scorches Europe, Fueling Wildfires, Drought


Wildfires have ravaged Spain, France and other parts of Europe as intense heat combined with months of rain has left the continent reeling.

In Spain, which has seen record high temperatures since June, temperatures topped 115 degrees Fahrenheit in some areas over the weekend. Firefighters have been battling wildfires since June. On Spain’s Costa del Sol, on the Mediterranean coast, authorities have ordered thousands of people to evacuate as fires spread to residential areas.
