Helena man cited in connection with Monday wildfire | Local


Helena, 39, was arrested in connection with a wildfire that rocked approximately three acres[3 ha]in northwestern Helena on Monday night.

According to Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Duten, Ryan P. Barrow is charged with felony criminal mischief for firing on a firearm and for setting fire to a three-mile road near Berssey Road.

Barrow has until July 9 to appear in Lewis and Clark County Court of Appeals.

Two houses on Murray Drive were evacuated during the fire, but residents were allowed to return within a few hours, Duten said.

No structures were destroyed in the fire.

The sheriff’s office, Birdseye Rural Fire Department, Volunteer Fire Department from Helena Valley, and a helicopter from the Montana Natural Resources and Protection Unit responded to the blaze.
