Several parts of Clearwater County in central Alberta have been ordered to evacuate due to wildfires northwest of Nordegg.
Clearwater County has issued evacuation orders for Snow Creek State Recreation Area, Dry Haven State Recreation Area, Outdoor Education Center, Fish Lake State Recreation Area, Frontier Lodge and Goldeye Lake State Recreation Area.
Residents and visitors to the affected areas have been asked to evacuate immediately.
Those needing a vacation trailer or camper can move overnight to the North Saskatchewan River Park at Rocky Mountain House at 394024 Range Road 7-3A.

A two-hour evacuation warning was also issued for Nordegg (North and South subdivisions), meaning residents and visitors in that area were asked to prepare to evacuate within two hours of being notified.
According to an alert issued by Alberta Emergency Management at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, the evacuation order was prompted by the RWF038 wildfire, which is currently out of control and is about 200 hectares in size.
