Travel warning: Europe in flames in horror wildfires – Portugal, Spain and France affected | Travel News | Travel

Portugal is now on the red alert for extreme temperatures.

Fire is expected in the country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned that “Portugal, on July 15, will remain in a state of emergency until midnight due to the extreme heat and forest fires.”

“During the summer months and when the weather is hot and dry, there is a risk of forest fires.”

Although it is still safe to travel to Portugal, the Foreign Office advises you to “remain vigilant and follow the instructions of your airline or tour guide” if you feel you are affected.

“Industrial action can happen occasionally and can cause delays and disruptions.”

The IPMA Climate Institute says the hot weather will continue in the new few days.
