25-acre forest fire in Naples now contained

Naples, Maine (WMTW) – Naples fire department officials say they have seized 25 hectares of forest fire in the Jugita Forest, with the help of nearly a dozen other aid agencies.

The privately owned forest is located north of Lake Sebago between Naples and Casco, Maine.

Members of the group were present at 12 a.m. Sunday morning and said they would remain in the area until evening to resolve the dispute.

Officials said no house was feared.

Residents were asked to be careful as the crew was working.

Due to drought and limited manpower, all combustion permits have been banned in Naples, and none of them will be issued until Tuesday.

ETV roads are also closed.
